Amber Mark Presents: S P A C E

February 5, 2016

Infusing a dynamic blend of indo-tribal beats into a galaxy of modern space-pop, New York songstress Amber Mark premieres her debut single "S P A C E" just in time for anti-valentines day festivities!

With a culturally diverse background in musicology, influenced by her time growing up in South Asia, it's quite clear why Amber Mark utilizes indian instrumentation in her latest release. Driven by a clapping synth loop, cello-like bass, and sentimental lyrics, "S P A C E" goes deep with rhythm as the first single off of the singer's debut EP. Resembling a similar style to Mapei, Nikka Costa, and UK bass-queen Ms. Dynamite, Amber uses facets of traditional indian music (like the tabla drum) alongside soulful harmonies that drip with intoxicating sonority.

While "S P A C E" deals more in the sense of retrospective nostalgia, the other tunes from the March-release focus on the loss of Amber's mother and her journey through bereavement.
