Futuristic funk makers of the Disclosure variety, Tasmanian duo Close Counters are cranking our midweek up a notch with their straight-up groove-filled beats. Unleashing an ace remix of Pump Up The Jam onto the world earlier this week in succession to their original single Picture Me, the two have created a trademark sound you don't want to miss!
Coastal, rugged, and wild in every respect, Tasmania is home to the infamous Tasmanian Devil - a carnivorous marsupial known for its overall ferocious nature. Striking a powerful parallel to Close Counters for the ferocity layered into each melody, it's no wonder that the 18 & 20 year old duo are breaking ground with every jam thus far. Composing a polyphony of synth riffs, basslines, and gyrating dance rhythms, Close Counters are conquering the 'Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP' genre of celebratory house music. As the first single from their forthcoming sophomore EP, Picture Me features vocals from art-pop singer BINI which helps the twosome capture an essence of pure jamboree from start to finish.
Grab your copy of Picture Me (+ remixes by Deep Shoq & Woesum) for $3 bucks at Close Counters' Bandcamp page here! Also be sure to cop a free download of their latest remix in the Soundcloud player above!
