Allow yourself a moment of peace. Breathe in, breathe out. Feel every muscle in your body relax. An overwhelming sensation of tranquility bubbling from beneath. Now submit yourself to the chilled out feels from cameragrammar's Up Here to keep that vibe going.
LA producer Hans Shen (aka. cameragrammar) has a serious knack for producing what some might call 'music with feels'. As one of The Beatforest elite, it was only a matter of time until this rising songsmith began his journey into the big leagues. We first found Shen back in August when he flipped Resonata's single Tryst. Since then, the cameragrammar sound has developed into a mature and contemporary brew of vibrant synth work that never ceases to amaze.
Up Here, in my opinion, is the optimal cameragrammar track. If I were to tell someone to check out a CG tune, this would be it. Much like those wind-up music boxes, Up Here begins with a soft and percussive intro. Introducing one melodic vocal chop after the next, the track continues into a progression of rhythmic abstraction. Every beat is held with syncopated anticipation until Shen finally decides to flip the script and introduce a futuristic drop towards the end. Could this get any better? I honestly don't think so.
