It's always nice to find a band who keep a certain quality of abstraction beneath the modern-day pressures of music creation. This is exactly what Los Angeles duo MS. produce in their latest EP Tracey Was Here!
As the first single from the six-track release, Boomslang. keeps the listener humming along with a strong chorus line, melodic beat, and crescendo building throughout. Consisting largely of vocal harmonies between the two bands members Taylor Woodward and Connor Dorman, MS. (formerly known as She.) have been together since 2014. Infusing a folktronic, art-rock energy into each of their songs, the duo are quickly gaining momentum with a similar sound to Alt-J; having recently been featured on sister blog to TBF Indie Shuffle for their track TKBN.
Boomslang. has a somewhat different appeal. With more of an electro-acoustic edge to the bluesy guitar riffs, Boomslang. undulates from one chord to the next until the listener is fully immersed into the melancholic sound of the track. While MS. are busy concocting new music for you in the coming year, be sure to check them out at their social spots below and grab the entire EP for free at their Bandcamp page here!
